Welcome to the home of Windsor Half Marathon Events.
For the past 5 years we have successfully showcased and delivered the Royal Windsor Half Marathon River Trail Run from the centre of Windsor at the foot of the Largest living castle in the World, which still attracts millions of visitors each year.
With the popularity of this event reaching 2500 participants in 2016 we want to share some of our local sister events that have been taking place in the area for the past 10 years.
The main focus for many runners each season is The London Marathon and now also Brighton Marathon in the UK, plus many of the other foreign marathons taking place each month around the world, there is plenty going on. This lends itself well to both runners that have both got an entry or looking to fill the gap in events they have not been successful in gaining an entry.
With all of this going on in the back ground, it leaves a huge number of runners looking to set targets to complete a half marathon as both a warm up or as part of there main challenge and target to keeping fit and healthy.
This is where the other events come into the calendar. The popular Pre London – Windsor & Eton Half Marathon from Dorney Lake is without doubt the flattest course you will ever run – and no road event can claim otherwise. It is simply pan flat, man made roads meandering its way around the London 2012 Olympic Rowing Venue. This event takes place each year in the middle of March and attracts over 1000 runners (due to venue capacity).
If you are looking for other Half Marathons throughout the year, then the Autumn Classic Windsor & Eton Half Marathon takes place in late November at Dorney Lake and is literally one of the last Half Marathons of the year. This is a UK Athletic Measured Certified Course and fills up with 1000 runners pounding the country surroundings of Eton Colleges Dorney Lake Rowing venue.
This is followed by the first Official Half Marathon of the New Year, each year. The Windsor Winter Half Marathon has proved to be a very popular way for the start of the year and burn off those Christmas indulgences. What better way to break in the New Year.
Between January and May there are numerous Half Marathons, 5km, 10km & 15km runs to take part in at one of the best kept secrets in the Thames Valley at the London 2012 Olympic Rowing venue, Dorney Lake.
